Step 1: Registration and Selection

1. WHAT IS DRACULA DIGITAL?

Dracula Digital is a competition organized by the Asociatia Culturala Fanzin in Brașov, Romania, as part of the 14th edition of Dracula Film Festival.

2. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS COMPETITION?

The purpose of Dracula Digital is to promote film education among young people, to give young people the chance to get closer to the film industry, and to discover and cultivate new talents in cinematography.

3. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

This competition is open to young film and photography enthusiasts aged between 16 and 29.

4. WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE?

Entering this competition offers many benefits, including the opportunity to collaborate with film industry professionals, have your film screened during Dracula Film Festival, participate in workshops and masterclasses dedicated to mobile filmmaking, and compete for the grand prize of 500 EURO.

5. WHAT IS THE COMPETITION TIMELINE?

Dracula Digital competition will take place from July 1st to October 11th, 2026.

6. WHAT ARE THE RULES TO ENTER THE COMPETITION?

You must be between 16 and 29 years old.

You have to make a short film using a mobile phone. The film must have a running time between 1 and 3 minutes and must belong to one of the following genres: horror, science fiction, supernatural, thriller or fantasy.

The film must be uploaded to www.youtube.com or www.vimeo.com, and the link must be submitted on www.draculadigital.ro.

7. WHEN CAN I APPLY?

Entries are open from July 1st to September 6th, 2026 on www.draculadigital.ro.

8. WHO CHOOSES THE FINALISTS?

A professional jury will select 5 films to enter the final stage of the competition.

In addition, the film with the highest number of public votes by September 20th, 2026, at 23:59 will automatically qualify for the final.

9. WHEN CAN THE FILMS BE VOTED?

Voting for the submitted films will take place from September 7th to September 20th, 2026, exclusively on www.draculadigital.ro.

10. IS THERE A REGISTRATION FEE TO ENTER THE COMPETITION?

Registration for Dracula Digital is FREE. The festival does not pay screening rights for films submitted to the Dracula Digital competition.

11. HOW MANY FINALISTS WILL ADVANCE TO THE NEXT STAGE?

A professional jury will select 5 films to enter the final stage of the competition.

In addition, the film receiving the highest number of public votes by September 20th, 2026, at 23:59 will automatically qualify for the final, resulting in a total of 6 finalist teams.

12. WHAT WILL HAPPEN DURING THE SECOND STAGE OF THE COMPETITION?

During Dracula Film Festival (October 8th–11th, 2026), the six finalist teams will participate in dedicated workshops and masterclasses. The workshops will also be open to the public, and the program and topics will be announced after October 5th, 2026.

The selected teams will produce a 3-minute horror, science fiction, supernatural, thriller or fantasy short film using a mobile phone, based on a theme chosen by the jury. The winning team will be selected by the jury.

13. WHAT OTHER BENEFITS ARE THERE FOR THE PARTICIPANTS?

The finalist films will be showcased during Dracula Film Festival.

Participants will have access to dedicated workshops and masterclasses on mobile filmmaking.

The winning team will receive the grand prize of 500 EURO.
